Inter Livery Pancake Race

On Tuesday 28 February, 4 Tax Advisers, supported by 11 other members took part in the annual Shrove Tuesday Inter-Livery Pancake Race. 2017 was the 13th year the race had taken place and the 8th successive year the Tax Advisers have entered a team. Around 24 other livery companies take part in an oversubscribed race which saw another 15 or so Masters from other companies competing to enter a team next year.

The Master,  reached the final of the Master’s Race and achieved a respectful second place in the final. This was match by Honorary Treasurer Victoria Lloyd who came second in the Ladies Final. Our Clerk and Honorary Liveryman, Paul Herbage took part in the Liveryman race and Freeman and Master Security Professional, Ian Mayes QC completed the line up in the fancy dress race. Paul and Ian finished in the top 5 in their heats.

A fabulous time was had by all on a bright sunny but chilly morning. After the final race everyone attended a warming buffet lunch in the Guildhall Crypt and left with a souvenir mug to remember the day.
